Westchester Man Accused Of Having Fake License Plate On Car
Police said the man was driving with a forged temporary license plate from New Jersey.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Westchester County resident was accused of having a fake temporary license plate on his car.
Yorktown police said Ivan Mejia, 25, of Shrub Oak, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony.
Police said, around 6 p.m. Sunday, an officer was sent to investigate a report of a possible stolen car traveling north on the Taconic State Parkway.

A traffic stop was initiated on the parkway in the vicinity of Route 132.
Mejia was identified as the driver, police said, and a check of Department of Motor Vehicles records was made.

Authorities said Meija had a forged New Jersey temporary license affixed to the car.
He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.
After being arraigned, Mejia was released on his own recognizance to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Nov. 19.
