Yorktown Continues Waiving Sidewalk Sales, Outdoor Dining Fees

The permit-fee waiver began in last year as part of Yorktown's effort to help local retailers during the coronavirus pandemic.

YORKTOWN, NY — To further help local merchants during the ongoing pandemic, the town of Yorktown will continue to waive fees for sidewalk sales and outdoor dining.

Supervisor Matt Slater said the town is committed to helping its merchants survive and thrive.

"The permit-fee waiver is one of several actions we took to help our community recover from the pandemic downturn," he said.

The permit-fee waiver began in 2020 as part of Yorktown's effort to help local retailers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Yorktown Chamber of Commerce President Sergio Esposito said throughout the pandemic, the chamber advocated for policies that allowed businesses to quickly adapt.

"The permit-fee waiver was a big help to our local restaurants when they couldn't serve food indoors," he said.
