Some random, “Did you know?” info:

- All admission fees have been reduced from last year’s prices

- There are more rides and game booths than ever before

- The rides ticket booth accepts credit cards as well as cash. An ATM machine is also available.

- This year there will be no live poultry exhibits or competitions due to the NY State ban aimed to control the avian epidemic wreaking deadly havoc with chicken populations across the country. (Have you noticed the cost of eggs recently?). Instead, the livestock area will feature more large animals than usual – many more breeds of of cows, horses, and goats will be represented.

- Each day, the first hour of the fair is designated as “quiet time”, allowing seniors, very young children, or anyone with disabilities such as autism, access to the animals and exhibits without the loud music and bright lights of the midway. The rides and games will begin operating one hour after the fair officially opens each day.

- At 7pm on Sunday, as the fair comes to a close, most of the vegetables, fruits, and plants that were competing for ribbons are auctioned off in the produce building, with proceeds earmarked for scholarships and local charities. All are welcome!

Watch for daily posts with pictures from each day of the Fair.
