Yorktown Lions Complete Turkey Pickups

Yesterday, November 19, the Yorktown Lions picked up donated turkeys at Uncle Guiseppe’s Marketplace in Yorktown. Today, the Lions picked up turkeys from the Shoprite in Cortlandt Manor. They then dropped them off at Mildred Strang Middle School. In all, The Yorktown Lions received forty donated turkeys.

The Middle School teachers, spearheaded by Christopher DiPasquale, will next add the trimmings – complemented by the donated turkeys. The forty turkeys will next be distributed to Yorktown families.

The Yorktown Lions would like to thank the Middle School teachers, managers of Uncle Guiseppe’s Marketplace (Derek Asplint) and Shoprite (Peter Torchiano), and MS custodians (Victor Branciforti and head custodian Tom Dunnings) for facilitating the donations. A special shout out to those anonymous Shoprite shoppers for donating their free turkeys for community distribution.
