Yorktown Lions and Strang Teachers Combine for Thanksgiving
Over the last ten years, Christopher DiPasquale has coordinated his fellow Mildred E. Strang Middle School teachers in preparing Thanksgiving meals for local families in need. In recent years the Yorktown Lions have assisted DiPasquale by soliciting turkey donations from area supermarkets.
The Yorktown Lions’ Thanksgiving Committee, which consists of Maria and Bill Marks, Pam and Tom McLoughlin, Ed Lachterman, and Jim Poulin, is coordinating the turkey donations. This year, the Yorktown Lions have received generous turkey donations from Uncle Guiseppe’s Marketplace and Shoprite in Cortlandt Manor.

The Lions pick up the turkeys from the supermarkets and deliver them to the Middle School. Then the Middle School teachers provide the trimmings, which complement the turkeys. The families – over thirty in number – will next pick up their turkey dinner.
The Lions and Middle School teachers would like to thank Uncle Guiseppe’s Marketplace and Cortlandt Manor’s Shoprite for making this Thanksgiving an enjoyable one for all Yorktown residents.
