Yorktown Man Accused Of Illegal Weapon Possession

Police also said the man threw a flat-screen TV to the ground.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of having an assault rifle while he was legally prohibited from doing so. Yorktown police charged Michael P. Mosher, 38, of Yorktown, with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Around 6 p.m. July 7, police were called to a Yorktown residence for a domestic incident.

Police said Mosher and the victim were arguing, and during the argument, Mosher threw a $1,000 flat-screen television to ground, damaging it.

Also, he was in possession of an assault rifle with high capacity magazines, police said, even though he had been previously convicted of a felony.

Mosher was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department.

He was processed and arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court, where an order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.

Mosher was sent to the Westchester County Jail. He is due back in court July 11.
