Yorktown Man Violated Order Of Protection On Christmas Eve: PD

Police said the man was sent to jail because he could not post bail.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of violating an order of protection.

The Yorktown Police Department said Scott Echeverria, 32, of Yorktown Heights, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

Police said, shortly before noon Dec. 24, officers were sent to a Yorktown home to check out a report of violation of an order of protection.

When they got there, the officers said they found Echeverria had violated a duly served order by the Yorktown Justice Court by contacting the person who was being protected.

On Tuesday, he was taken to the Yorktown Town Court by the Westchester County Department of Corrections and was arrested.

After Echeverria was processed and arraigned, he was sent to the Westchester County Department of Corrections in lieu of $15,000 bail.

He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 8.
