Yorktown Renames Cultural Center In Memory Of Former Supervisor

The building was formally renamed at a ceremony Sunday.

YORKTOWN, NY — Yorktown renamed its community and cultural center in memory of former town supervisor Albert A. Capellini. The town board unanimously passed a resolution authorizing the renaming of the building as the Albert A. Capellini Community and Cultural Center at a June 26 work session.

The building was formally renamed at a ceremony Sunday, July 1, tapinto.net said.

According to the town’s website, Capellini was an integral member of the community for almost five decades, having served with distinction as a member of the town council and as town supervisor.

“He was also a well-respected attorney, advocate, public servant and contributed in numerous ways to the betterment of our community,” the website said.
