• Lack of quorum cancels Autryville meeting (clintonnc.com) — Autryville's Board of Commissioners had to cancel its latest monthly meeting after too few members were in town to form a quorum, but officials say no urgent business was delayed. Mayor Grayson Spell and the town clerk stress that unpaid commissioners balance family and business obligations, and note that any time-sensitive issues can be handled in special meetings, with the next regular session set for Oct. 20.
