Black Mountain Town Council member resigns, cites move out of town (blackmountainnews.com) ā A Black Mountain Town Council seat is opening after member Pam King resigned effective April 24 so she can move out of state to be closer to family. King, first elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024, called serving Black Mountain an honor and urged continued support for hiring a new town manager and ongoing recovery and rebuilding work.

2. Could Asheville water customers face restrictions amid drought? City explains (wlos.com) ā Black Mountainās water supply is currently stable, with 10 town wells running at full capacity while the other half of its water comes from Ashevilleās North Fork reservoir, now 8 feet below normal. Town officials say there are no restrictions yet, but Black Mountain will coordinate with Asheville if drought conditions worsen and conservation rules are triggered later this summer.

Black Mountain bars celebrate Rose, Blanche, Dorothy and Sophia with quirky event ā The Valley Echo (thevalleyecho.com) ā Black Mountainās Golden Girls Pub Crawl returns this Saturday, April 25, with four local barsāLookout Brewing, Que Sera, Old Town District and Town Pump Tavernāeach channeling a different āGolden Girl.ā Starting at 3 p.m., expect costumes, live music at every stop, drink specials, and themed merchandise, plus a quirky backstory involving a Betty White mask and a taproom on Black Mountain Avenue.
