• Bristol District Weekly Traffic Alert: June 29 - July 5, 2026 (virginia.gov) — VDOT’s Bristol District is warning drivers about lane closures, bridge work, and detours across Southwest Virginia from June 29 to July 5, including nighttime repairs on I-81 near Bristol. If you’re heading out on I-81 or I-77, or using key primary routes in nearby counties, expect changing traffic patterns, narrowed lanes, and occasional super-load movements that could slow your trip.
