• Virginia High welcomes in a new era for both basketball programs (wcyb.com) — Virginia High School in Bristol has reshuffled its basketball leadership, with Destiny “DJ” Newberry taking over the girls team while longtime coach Kevin Timmons moves to lead the boys program. Newberry comes from Lebanon High and says she’s eager to build relationships with her players, while Timmons plans to emphasize character and emotional control as he guides the boys into a new era this winter.
