• The lost lakes may soon return to Boiling Spring Lakes (starnewsonline.com subscription) — Boiling Spring Lakes’ long-dry lakes and key dams are finally nearing restoration, with officials aiming to finish reconstruction by late 2026 and fully refill Big Lake by mid-to-late 2027. Residents can expect East Boiling Spring and Alton Lennon roads to reopen once the $56–57 million, grant-funded project wraps up, followed by debris clearing and a community celebration.
