• Sloth bites child trying to kiss, hug it at Moore County zoo, USDA says (myfox8.com) — A child was recently bitten by a sloth during a paid animal encounter at Aloha Safari Park in Cameron, prompting the zoo to end public sloth interactions and quarantine the animal. Federal inspectors labeled the incident a critical animal-handling violation, saying the park failed to provide enough distance or barriers to keep guests safe.
