Flash Flood Watch In Effect: What You Need To Know
A flash flood watch is in effect for Mecklenburg, Iredell Counties into the evening, the National Weather Service said.

CHARLOTTE, NC β A flash flood watch in effect for Mecklenburg, Iredell Counties until late Monday as storms pushing into the region threaten to dump as much as 2 inches of rain this evening, the National Weather Service said.
Parts of the region could see as much as 2 inches of rain over the next few days, according to the July 23 forecast. A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that could lead to flash flooding, NWS said.
Earlier Monday, NWS issued a warning about the threat of potential localized flash flooding in the area. βNumerous to widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms will develop across the area this afternoon through tonight,β NWS said in a hazardous outlook advisory July 23. βThe main threat from the showers and storms will be heavy to excessive rainfall, which could result in localized flash flooding, especially in urban areas along the I-77 corridor.β
