Drive-Thru Mobile Food Pantry at Winecoff Elementary School Nov. 2 (charlotteonthecheap.com) — Winecoff Elementary School in Concord will host a drive-thru mobile food pantry on Monday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 6 p.m., or while supplies last. Any household can drive up, with no ID or registration required, to receive canned and dry goods, eggs, meat, fresh produce and more, with up to two household pickups allowed per vehicle.
   

2. Flag football Recap: Concord Comes Up Short Despite ALIANNA PHIFER's Big Defensive Game (maxpreps.com) — Concord’s flag football team, the Spiders, dropped their fourth straight game in a 32–21 loss to East Rowan, despite a standout defensive performance by Aliana Phifer, who recorded all five of Concord’s sacks. Strong efforts from receivers Jamee Nelson and Emilia Bradley weren’t enough, and the team has since fallen to 3–9 after an additional 36–0 loss to Mount Pleasant.
   

3. Speedway Christmas Presented by Atrium Health Brings Festive Fun for 17th Holiday Season (speedwaydigest.com) — Speedway Christmas at Charlotte Motor Speedway returns Nov. 20–Jan. 3, giving Concord-area families a nearby drive-through light show with more than 6 million lights, a Christmas Village, tubing hill, and holiday movies. Tickets are sold per vehicle with value and village nights, season passes, and discounts for bringing a Coca-Cola product to the gate.
   

4. Lilly Breaks Ground on $5-Bn Mfg Facility in the US (dcatvci.org) — Eli Lilly has designated Concord as one of four new U.S. sites that will manufacture injectable medicines and devices, expanding the company’s national footprint. While the story centers on a new Virginia facility, it signals future pharmaceutical manufacturing jobs and investment planned for Concord as part of Lilly’s broader $50 billion U.S. buildout.
