Cabarrus Health Alliance: Public Health for Every Neighbor

They have something resourceful for everyone in Concord and Kannapolis." — Pastor DougFor more than twenty-five years, Cabarrus Health Alliance has been the public health backbone of Cabarrus County. It was created by the County Board of Commissioners on July 1, 1997, when the former Cabarrus County Health Department was reorganized into a public health authority. Today it serves as a single front door for everything from childhood immunizations and dental care to nutrition support for new mothers.

Through its clinical services it offers immunizations, family planning, women's health and maternity care, breast health, and international travel health. Its dental clinic serves residents who might otherwise go without routine care. The WIC program provides nutrition guidance and food support for pregnant women, new mothers, and young children, and the Alliance runs free cooking classes to help families turn that support into healthy meals. Behavioral health, school health, communicable disease control, and environmental health round out the portfolio.Cabarrus Health Alliance holds national accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board through 2027. In 2025 it published a new Community Health Assessment, a county-wide study of where residents are thriving and where gaps remain.

The main campus is at 300 Mooresville Road in Kannapolis (704-920-1000).
