With 11 nonstop destinations now served from Concord and Avelo committing long-term to the region, residents gain more affordable options for spring and weekend travel. 
• The most affordable fall trips for budget-friendly travel (qz.com) — Concord is spotlighted as one of the country’s most affordable fall getaways, with Reader’s Digest praising its mix of attractions for couples and families. From Concord Mills and Great Wolf Lodge to Charlotte Motor Speedway and the Depot at Gibson Mill, the city offers a full weekend of activities without a big price tag, all within easy reach of Charlotte’s airport.
• The Avett Theater is Coming to North Carolina (relix.com) — Cabarrus County investors and preservationists are transforming Mount Pleasant’s long-abandoned Paula Theater into The Avett Theater, honoring the Avett Brothers, who hail from nearby Concord and still live in the area. Backers have already raised nearly half of the $3.75 million renovation cost, with hopes of opening the revitalized venue by the end of 2027.
