Conover Police say no one else was injured, weather was not a factor, and the crash remains under investigation.

• Conover husband, wife killed in car crash after hitting telephone pole, overpass (hickoryrecord.com) — A husband and wife from Catawba County were killed Monday in a single-vehicle crash on Conover Boulevard, which shut down the road near a railroad overpass. Authorities say the car hit a telephone pole and the overpass, and the wreck drew a major response as crews investigated and cleared the scene. Drivers in the area faced detours while the closure was in effect.
