Boaters Urged To Steer Clear Of Sunken Barge Removal
A crew will be on Lake Norman through Wednesday, working to remove a sunken barge. Boaters are asked to steer clear.

CORNELIUS, NC — A towboat crew is on Lake Norman Friday, working to remove a partially sunken barge. Boaters are urged to give the crew plenty of space.
Beaufort Towboat will be conducting the removal operation from Friday, April 13 through Wednesday, April 18 near the end of Torrence Chapel Road, according to the Cornelius Police Department.
Cornelius Police Department Lake Patrol asks that boaters stay at least 500 yards away from the barge and workers, as boat wakes from onlookers could pose a danger to the crew.
