Landscaper Accused Of Trying To Defraud Elderly Sought By Police
Cornelius police are searching for a man accused of attempting to defraud elderly residents with offers to provide landscaping services.
CORNELIUS, NC — Cornelius police are asking for the public’s help locating a man they say is a person of interest in a case and is accused of attempting to defraud elderly residents with offers to provide landscaping services.
According to Cornelius Police Department, the suspect identifies himself as “Jamari Thomas,” and has made attempts to sell and spread pine needles in the Cornelius area recently. He has been seen driving a pickup truck with Alabama tag TS67F93, pulling a trailer with a Georgia tag 2047A.
“The subject seems to have the intent to defraud those that are believed to be more vulnerable victims, particularly the elderly, by charging a large amount of money for the service,” CPD said.

CPD said anyone who knows the whereabouts of the suspect or the vehicle is asked to call the police department 704-892-7773.
“We ask [that] you share this information with your neighbors who might not have access to social media and our website. Please, if you have elderly family or neighbors, remind them to be careful who they accept services from and if something doesn’t seem right they can call 911,” CPD said.
