Davidson To Step Up Patrols In Wake Of Deadly UNCC Shooting
Hours after two people were killed and four others wounded in a shooting on UNCC's campus, Davidson College said it was stepping up patrols.
DAVIDSON, NC — Hours after two people were killed and at least four others wounded in a shooting on University of North Carolina Charlotte campus Tuesday evening, Davidson College said it was stepping up patrols.
Shots rang out on the north Charlotte campus’ Kennedy Hall shortly before 5 p.m. “Run, Hide, Fight. Secure yourself immediately,” UNCC’s emergency management tweeted out to students.
The gunman, who police said was a student of the school, was taken into custody immediately following the incident.

While the incident did not present a threat to the campus of Davidson College, the school said it would be stepping up law enforcement presence as a precaution.
“Out of caution, Town of Davidson Police & Campus Police are providing additional patrols in light of the shooting at UNC Charlotte,” it said in a tweet.
