Residents Complain After Cable Salesmen Approach Davidson Homes
Two people wearing branded clothing allegedly attempted to pressure residents to sign up for AT&T services in Davidson, town officials said.
DAVIDSON, NC — Davidson police are investigating recent complaints from town residents that two people wearing AT&T branded clothing approached their homes and attempted to pressure residents to sign up for cable and internet services by claiming they would soon lose Continuum services, town officials said.
The Town of Davidson has an ordinance that bans solicitation at homes.
“The information these solicitors shared with residents about Continuum going out of business is incorrect,” the Town of Davidson said in a statement. “In last week’s election, voters in Davidson and Mooresville approved the sale of Continuum to TDS Broadband LLC. After the closing of the sale at the end of 2019 or early 2020, TDS will continue to offer cable, internet and voice service to the region.”

Also, any resident with a Ring Doorbell may send footage of the encounter directly to the police department through the Neighbors App. The police department will accept any photos or videos from other security systems as well, the town said.
