Soggy Week Ahead: When Lake Norman Can Expect Rain From Florence

Hurricane Florence is expected to dump inches of rain across North Carolina. Here's when Lake Norman can expect rain.

DAVIDSON, NC — This week’s weather will be one of grey skies and plenty of showers, as the state continues to eye the potential impacts of Hurricane Florence expected to make landfall in the Tar Heel State later this week.

Hurricane Florence is expected to make landfall along the Carolina coast by Thursday, which means the state could see "life-threatening impacts" from inland flooding, storm surges and downed trees and power lines, North Carolina Emergency Management said Monday morning.

While the storm has yet to hit, the region's work week is already off to a rainy start, according to the National Weather Service. Showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the Charlotte metro and Lake Norman region every day this week. Highs will hover in the high 80s, with overnight lows in the 70s.
