• Maiden man arrested after $30K in stolen boat equipment recovered (wsoctv.com) — Police say about $30,000 in boat equipment was stolen from a Denver marine dealer in a string of break-ins, leading to the arrest of a Maiden man. Deputies recovered the gear at his Catawba County home, and he's now held without bond. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. 
• Driver escapes after masked man attempts to smash SUV window (newsbreak.com) — A Denver resident narrowly escaped when a masked man tried to smash his SUV window near Highway 16 and Optimist Club Road in Lincoln County. Acting quickly, he drove away while calling deputies, who soon arrested a Charlotte man after a brief foot chase. The victim says he's still shaken that it happened just minutes from his neighborhood.
