• Kayaking turns grisly when a man's body surfaces in scenic river, NC sheriff says (charlotteobserver.com) — Authorities are investigating after kayakers found a man’s body in the Dan River near the Bethlehem Church Road boat ramp, just south of Eden, on Sunday afternoon. Rockingham County deputies used swift water rescue teams to recover the body, which has been sent to the state medical examiner for identification and cause of death. Officials say it is not linked to other recent remains cases in the county.
