• Bladen County Board of Commissioners Remains Intact (borderbelt.org) — Bladen County residents packed the courthouse in Elizabethtown as Board Chair Cameron McGill withdrew his proposal to shrink the county commissioners from nine to five seats, calling it a “dead issue.” Civil rights groups and many Black residents feared the change would weaken Black voting power, while McGill framed it as a budget-cutting idea amid ongoing financial strain on county services and schools.
