• New Elon Journal issue highlights research on TikTok and television (elon.edu) — Elon University’s School of Communications has released the spring 2026 Elon Journal of Undergraduate Research in Communications, spotlighting eight student papers on TikTok, television fandom, and media representation. Local students’ projects explore everything from true-crime reactions on TikTok to portrayals of trans characters and Strong Black Women on TV, all vetted through a faculty blind-review process.

• Gen Z is more optimistic than Boomers, but less attached to America, poll finds (kansascity.com) — Elon residents might be interested to know that Elon University’s latest national poll finds Gen Z more optimistic about the future than older generations, yet less emotionally attached to the United States. Conducted by the Elon University Poll in Alamance County, the survey also reveals how Americans want to mark the nation’s 250th birthday and which presidents they believe best embody democratic ideals.
