Fayetteville Technical Community College named finalist for NC TECH Public Sector Innovation Award (bizfayetteville.com) — Fayetteville Technical Community College has been named a finalist for the statewide NC TECH Public Sector Innovation Award, spotlighting its leadership in cybersecurity education. As a founding partner of the Carolina Cyber Network, FTCC is helping build paid internship pathways and high-demand cyber careers for local students, strengthening both Fayetteville's workforce and North Carolina's broader technology economy.
   

2. Bladen County residents invited to join Walk to End Alzheimer's (bladenjournal.com) — Fayetteville residents can join the Walk to End Alzheimer's at Segra Stadium on Oct. 24, with check-in at 9 a.m. and the opening ceremony at 10 a.m. The event raises money and awareness for Alzheimer's care and research, welcomes individuals and teams, and offers volunteer and sponsor opportunities through the Fayetteville event page or the association's helpline.
   

3. STV Project Wins National DBIA Award for Fayetteville Loop (constructionowners.com) — A key six-mile segment of Fayetteville's I-295 Outer Loop, connecting Camden Road in Cumberland County to I-95 in Robeson County, has earned a national transportation award. The completed stretch improves regional traffic flow and freight movement around Fayetteville, advancing the long-term goal of a continuous interstate loop and offering drivers a more reliable route through southeastern North Carolina.
   

4. North Carolina joins push for national AI safety regulations (abc11.com) — North Carolina's attorney general has joined 22 others in urging Congress to create national safety rules for artificial intelligence, warning that unchecked systems could threaten critical infrastructure and security. From Fayetteville, experts at Fayetteville State University and local firm Strategix AI explain how guardrails might protect everything from water systems to small businesses, while still allowing innovation to benefit communities across the state.
