Congress clears Fort Bragg land transfer for new NC veterans home (carolinajournal.com) — Federal lawmakers have cleared a Fort Bragg land transfer that allows North Carolina to move forward with a new $40 million Fayetteville Veterans Home, replacing the facility that closed in 2024. With state funding already authorized, the project will restore badly needed long-term care capacity for local veterans once the president signs the bill and construction begins.

2. Young man identified in deadly Fayetteville shooting at Circle K on Cedar Creek Road: Police (cbs17.com) — Fayetteville police have identified 21-year-old Shawn Williams Jr. of Fayetteville as the man killed in a Sept. 25 shooting at the Circle K on Cedar Creek Road near I-95. Officers found him with a gunshot wound and pronounced him dead at the scene, and detectives are still investigating while asking anyone with information to contact Detective J. Bergamine.

Daniel Tosh takes aim at Fayetteville after Crown Theatre show canceled (cbs17.com) — Fayetteville's Crown Theatre and Crown Arena are now closed over serious structural concerns, forcing comedian Daniel Tosh to cancel his Oct. 16 show here and move it to Asheville. County leaders say repairs could cost up to $100 million, while Crown Complex management works with affected events and shifts more entertainment to the still-open Crown Coliseum.

Latest Pentagon Overseas Operations casualty report: 5 service members have died, 443 injured since July 7 (fox5ny.com) — A Pentagon update on Overseas Operations casualties notes that five U.S. service members have died and 443 have been injured since July 7, including Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton of Fayetteville. Swinton, assigned to a Fort Bragg-based air defense unit, was killed July 19 while working to safely detonate a downed drone at Erbil Air Base in Iraq, highlighting the risks still faced by local soldiers abroad.

- I need to declutter my house, will be giving away free craft items some barely used , some still brand new in the box, also will be giving away printers and such never used , but not in the box , also I think I have a brand new sewing machine still
