2. Downtown Fayetteville hotel and apartment project delayed again (fayobserver.com) — Construction of the long-planned Stadium View hotel and apartment tower atop the Hay Street Parking Garage in downtown Fayetteville has stalled again as new developers reassess the project. 3. Fayetteville wins $25 million HUD grant for Murchison Road (fayobserver.com) — Fayetteville has secured a $25 million HUD Choice Neighborhoods grant to help transform the Murchison Road corridor with new mixed-income housing, parks, trails, and workforce programs. Combined with existing city investment, the plan aims to leverage more than half a billion dollars in public and private projects over the next eight years, with residents urged to stay engaged as designs move forward.

5. Patrons start brawling at Golden Corral, then a woman suddenly dies, NC police say (newsobserver.com subscription) — A woman died after a chaotic brawl broke out Thursday afternoon at the Golden Corral on Skibo Road in Fayetteville, where police found her unresponsive and tried life-saving measures. Investigators say her medical emergency may be unrelated to the fight, and the Chief Medical Examiner is working to determine the official cause of death as detectives piece together what sparked the disturbance.
