This event is for students and alumni to explore such personal and professional opportunities as internships, full- and part-time employment, graduate school, and volunteer positions.
Registration is now open for employers and graduate programs who would like to attend, and it will close on Feb. 14. Alumni are encouraged to share this registration form with their networks. Registration is free for everyone this year — new and returning partners.
"Students can expect a business-casual environment where they will have the opportunity to network with representatives from the community who will have information to help them explore their next steps," says Guilford Guide Latoya Vines. "Guides will be present to help students navigate the event. Students and alums will also be able to visit our resume-review table and have a professional headshot taken for their LinkedIn profiles."
"This will be our first in-person fair since 2020, so a huge goal of the planning group was to keep the opportunities for exploration diverse, spread the word widely to students, and help them prepare for the big day," says Associate Director of Guided Discovery Amber Slade. "Guided Discovery will also be hosting preparation sessions leading up to the fair. We currently have space for approximately 10 more registrants to attend the fair as space is limited due to Covid guidelines. We want everyone to be equally inspired and safe!"
Guilford's students are uniquely positioned and prepared for the workplace because of their unique liberal-arts education. They're also critical thinkers who are heavily interested in ethical leadership.
"We are so excited to see students and alumni making connections with graduate schools, employers, and internship coordinators at the Career Fair this year," says Guilford Guide Natty Burfield. "Guided Discovery will continue to develop this program and we hope that everyone that attends grows their network and their knowledge. Even if you are not ready to enter the job searching stage, there are plenty of things you can take away from this event."
