Multiple Ramp Closures For I-73 Rehab Project In Greensboro

NC Department of Transportation contract crews plan to close several ramps overnight through next week as part of the ongoing project to improve Interstate 73 in Greensboro.

  • The ramp from Groometown Road to I-73/I-85 North is set to close at 11 pm each night Thursday to Tuesday, September 10-15 and reopen at 6 am the following mornings. As a detour, drivers will take I-85 Business north to the Holden Road exit, then back on Business 85 South to rejoin I-73 North or take the Gate City Boulevard exit to return to I-85 North.
  • The ramp from I-73 South to US 220 South is scheduled to close from 11 pm each night Friday to Tuesday, September 11-15 until 6 am the following mornings. A signed detour will follow I-85 North to South Elm-Eugene Street and back onto I-85 South to access US 220 South.
  • The ramp from I-73 South to I-85 South and Groometown Road will be closed from midnight to 6 am Sunday, September 13. A signed detour will follow northbound I-85 Business to Holden Road to return to I-85 South and Groometown Road.
  • The ramp from I-73 South to northbound Business 85 will be closed from midnight to 6 am on Sunday and Monday, September 13-14. A signed detour will use US 220 South and Old Randleman Road to return to US 220 North to I-85 Business ramps.
  • The ramp from Groometown Road to I-73 North is scheduled to close at 11 pm each night Monday to Friday, September 13-18 and reopen by 6 am the following mornings. A signed detour will follow I-85 North to South Elm-Eugene Street to return onto I-85 South to access I-73 North.
