Douglas Galyon Depot renovation. Residents can review details online and speak at a September 30 public hearing, but must submit comments or sign up to speak by late September deadlines.

New signs in Greensboro discourage e-bikes on trails (myfox8.com) — If you ride an e-bike in Greensboro, new signs on popular walking trails are warning where those bikes aren't allowed after a spike in complaints from pedestrians. Parks and Recreation staff say they're focused on safety and education, especially on trails shared with walkers and neighborhood paths like those around Hamilton Lakes.

NASA astronaut Christina Koch inspires North Carolina A&T engineering students in campus visit (ground.news) — NASA astronaut Christina Koch spent Thursday morning inspiring engineering students at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, answering questions about space travel, Artemis II, and her path as an engineer. She also spoke with elementary school students in North Carolina, encouraging young kids to dream big about science, exploration, and their futures.
   

4. Legal Support Center opens in honor of retired Chief Judge Teresa Vincent (peacemakeronline.com) — Local leaders have officially opened the Greensboro Legal Support Center, dedicating it in honor of retired Chief District Court Judge Teresa Vincent. Guilford County commissioners, judges, and state court officials joined the ribbon cutting, marking a new resource aimed at improving access to the court system for residents.
   

5. Family of 73-year-old Greensboro shooting victim speaks out (abc45.com) — Greensboro police say 73-year-old Kathryn Binkley and 76-year-old Margaret Collins were killed in a weekend shooting on Creswell Court, allegedly by a neighbor. Binkley's brother remembers her as a vibrant, generous Greensboro native and hopes speaking out will encourage others to seek help before conflicts turn violent.
