• Golden LEAF Foundation awards ECU $2.9 million for health sciences programs (ecu.edu) — East Carolina University in Greenville just landed a $2.9 million Golden LEAF Foundation grant to expand medical education and clinical laboratory sciences training. The funding will enhance the new Brody Center for Medical Education and grow lab science cohorts, aiming to boost the local healthcare workforce and improve access to care across eastern North Carolina.
   

• News 12 Investigates: DMV wait times improve as state prepares digital wallet (wcti12.com) — If you've been dreading the DMV in Greenville, new data shows average walk-in waits have dropped from nearly two hours last year to just 19 minutes. State officials credit more staff, upgraded scanners, and moving hundreds of thousands of transactions online. They're also preparing a free, optional digital driver's license that could eventually be used at airports, with law enforcement, and at local businesses.
