United States Marine Band to perform next week in Greenville, Rocky Mount (reflector.com) — Greenville residents can see the United States Marine Band for free Tuesday night at ECU's Wright Auditorium, with tickets required but no admission charge. The long-delayed concert, originally canceled in 2021 due to COVID, is part of the band's 250th anniversary tour, and standby seats will open 15 minutes before showtime if ticket holders aren't seated.
   

2. 'New chapter': Building Hope celebrates move to temporary home (reflector.com) — Families in west Greenville who rely on Building Hope's after-school and suspension-support programs now have a much larger temporary home on West Ninth Street, with new spaces like a STEAM lab and sensory room. The nonprofit is planning a capital campaign for a permanent facility while expanding services, including a pilot program for sixth-grade girls focused on resilience and self-worth.
   

3. Woman arrested after alleged assault of employees at South Greenville Elementary (wcti12.com) — Parents and staff at South Greenville Elementary may want to know that a Greenville woman faces multiple misdemeanor charges after an alleged disturbance and assaults on two school employees last month. Court documents describe accusations of threats, disorderly conduct, and ignoring a trespass warning, and she remains in custody pending a November court appearance, while still presumed innocent.
   

4. Yard sale benefitting Winter's Grace Animal Rescue comes to Greenville this weekend (witn.com) — Greenville animal lovers can support Winter's Grace Animal Rescue this Saturday at a big yard sale fundraiser featuring hot dogs, pet treats, and hundreds of donated items. Visitors can meet miniature horse ambassadors Piper and Harley and also connect with adoptable pets, with all proceeds helping cover medical care, food, and shelter for rescue animals.
   

5. Greenville police file additional charges in downtown shooting that injured three (wcti12.com) — Greenville residents are learning more about the late‑September downtown shooting as police file additional charges against two people, including one of the injured, after three were hurt near East Fifth Street. Investigators say the dispute-related gunfire involved a weapon on East Carolina University property, but they're not seeking more suspects, and all reported injuries were non-life-threatening.
