Neuroscience Symposium – Oct. 30 (ecu.edu) — Greenville residents interested in brain science can attend the 28th Annual Neuroscience Symposium on Friday, October 30, 2026, at the East Carolina Heart Institute on Heart Drive. The all-day event features talks from UNC and ECU experts, student and trainee poster sessions, and even encourages Halloween costumes, with registration and abstract deadlines set for late October.
   

2. Greenville bakery celebrates Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Day of Reading (witn.com) — A Greenville bakery, Open House Baking, marked Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Day by giving children free gently used books, tying the celebration directly to local families. East Carolina University literacy experts also highlighted how the Imagination Library supports early reading for Greenville-area kids, underscoring North Carolina's strong performance in childhood literacy.
   

3. NC Lottery Mega Millions, Pick 3 Day results for Sept. 25, 2026 (shelbystar.com) — North Carolina's latest lottery results are in, and Greenville players can check their Mega Millions, Pick 3, Pick 4, Cash 5 and Millionaire for Life tickets against Friday's winning numbers. If you've won more than $599, you can claim prizes at the Greenville Regional Office on Dickinson Avenue, which handles payouts up to $99,999 on weekdays.
   

4. ECU football: Williams' career-high 3 TD passes cues 42-9 rout of NCCU (reflector.com) — East Carolina's offense finally broke loose in a 42-9 home win over North Carolina Central, powered by quarterback Emory Williams' three first-half touchdown passes. One score went to Greenville native Michael Allen, who added a strong rushing performance. The Pirates now head into a bye week before hosting Rice on Oct. 10.
   

5. Emerge Gallery and Art Center accepting entries for DownEast exhibition (reflector.com) — Artists in and around Greenville can now submit sculptures for the DownEast National Juried Sculpture Exhibition, which includes a yearlong outdoor display across Pitt County. With partners like the City of Greenville and the Greenville Museum of Art, the show offers locals a chance to showcase work regionally; entries are due November 15 with modest fees per piece.
