Catawba County Celebrates Opening Of New Hickory EMS Base (whky.com) — Catawba County has opened a new EMS base at 827 7th Avenue Southeast in Hickory, replacing an older facility and improving emergency response times in the area. The 6,500-square-foot station adds modern ambulance bays, training space, and crew areas as part of a broader investment in public safety infrastructure. County leaders say it strengthens service for Hickory residents and nearby communities.

Thompson Pregnancy Care Center Opens In Hickory (whky.com) — A new pregnancy care center has opened at 222 2nd Avenue Southeast in Hickory, offering free pregnancy-related services, education, and counseling to women and families. Indivisible Citizens Of Catawba Valley To March For Voting Rights On June 27 (focusnewspaper.com) — Hickory residents are invited to join a March for Voting Rights on June 27, with three route options along City Walk and Historic Ridgeview Walk converging downtown at Sally Fox Park. Organized by Indivisible Citizens of Catawba Valley as part of a national day of action, the event will feature chants, music, and a program headlined by voting-rights advocate Rev. Steve Allen.
