• The city of Jacksonville wants to nearly quadruple its size, annexing much of Camp Lejeune (wunc.org) — Holly Ridge leaders are pushing back against a plan for Jacksonville to annex much of Camp Lejeune, which would suddenly put the city’s limits right next to town. Mayor Pete Parnian worries the move could extend Jacksonville’s planning reach and constrain Holly Ridge’s rapid growth, while city officials insist they only want to better serve the base.
