Arrest Made After Fatal Shooting In Huntersville

Huntersville Police confirm that an arrest has been made in the Wednesday shooting that left one person dead and another injured.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — The suspect wanted in a Huntersville shooting on Bryton Pass Lane that left one person dead has been arrested, Huntersville Police confirm.

The Dec. 26 shooting in an apartment complex in a neighborhood near Blythe Elementary school also left another person with non-life threatening injuries Wednesday morning, according to a report. Huntersville Police urged motorists to find a detour around the area of Hambright Road between Old Statesville Road and Bryton Corporate Center Parkway Wednesday morning due to police activity.

Fox 46 reported that the alleged suspect, Ivan Fernando Petty, 23, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a weapon into an occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to the station, the victim pronounced dead on the scene was identified as Zonto Monto Dunlap, 28.
