HUNTERSVILLE, NC — A fire that ripped through a Huntersville condominium complex earlier this week had a devastating impact on a mother who says she and her two daughters have lost everything.

“Currently displaced with nowhere to go,” and no family in the state, Marranda Nichole said in a GoFundMe post. “Just relocated here a year ago with my two daughters. Never thought anything like this would happen to me. Raising money to get [a] new place, I lost everything.”

The March 18 early morning fire at the Admiral Quarters complex left nearly a dozen residents and their pets displaced, according to firefighters.

The fire started on a third floor deck and spread to the roof, WFAE reported.

A CATS city bus was brought to the scene to provide warmth for the eight adults and three children who were displaced while fire crews worked to extinguish the fire. Fire officials also requested Red Cross assist residence with temporary housing, Huntersville Fire said.
