Huntersville Weekend Weather: Rain Ahead

The chance of afternoon thunderstorms creeps back into the region Friday afternoon and again Sunday.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC -- Keep outdoor plans flexible and an umbrella handy this weekend, as rain is headed to the Charlotte metro region, according to the National Weather Service.

Thunderstorms are expected to roll into the region Friday evening, leading to patchy fog Saturday morning. Saturday will be partly cloudy but chances for afternoon thunderstorm come back Sunday afternoon.

A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. South southwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Tonight
A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday, Aug. 5
Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Light east southeast wind.
Sunday, Aug. 6
A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming south around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72.
