• Huntersville man charged with murder after wife dies from strangulation, police say (wbtv.com) — Huntersville police say a 66-year-old local man has been charged with second-degree murder after his wife died following an alleged strangulation at their McGinnis Lane home. Officers responded on September 22, and the charge was upgraded after the victim died in the hospital on October 1. Investigators are still piecing together what led to the assault and are asking residents for tips.
• Text From Heather Gibbs' Files Asked What Car Gabehart Drives (backfirenews.com) — Legal filings tied to Joe Gibbs Racing, whose shop is in Huntersville, reveal a text thread from Heather Gibbs' files now at the center of a federal contempt dispute with former crew chief Chris Gabehart and Spire Motorsports. The messages, produced as highly confidential, are being used to argue over whether court orders on trade secrets were violated. Key hearings in Charlotte federal court are scheduled through mid-October.
