• Jacksonville begins Northeast Creek Park boardwalk removal, launches resiliency upgrades (wcti12.com) — Northeast Creek Park in Jacksonville is getting a major safety and resiliency upgrade, starting with removal of its storm-damaged boardwalk. Funded by a NOAA grant, the multi-year project will add a new boardwalk, fishing pier, ADA-accessible kayak launch, wetland restoration, and a living shoreline, with construction continuing through 2027 and completion expected in 2028. 
• WARRANTS: Woman tries to bite Jacksonville police officers after holding pregnant woman at gunpoint (witn.com) — Jacksonville police have charged a local woman with multiple serious offenses after an alleged armed confrontation with a pregnant woman and a struggle during her arrest. She was taken to the Onslow County Jail, is being held without bond, and is scheduled to appear before a judge today, underscoring an active criminal case in the community.
