(northcountrynow.com) — Kannapolis has a new police chief, Christopher Hill, who now leads a 131-person department focused on keeping crime low and strengthening ties with residents and businesses. Hill, a longtime Kannapolis officer promoted through the ranks, emphasizes collaboration with the community as the city continues to grow and maintain a crime rate well below the state average.
   

• Kannapolis loose leaf collection begins Nov. 2 (salisburypost.com) — Kannapolis residents need to prepare now for loose leaf collection, which runs from Nov. 2 through Jan. 15, 2027, with no service on several major holidays. Until Nov. 2 and after Jan. 15, leaves must be bagged, and neighbors can check exact pickup dates online or via the city’s CARTology app.
