• Male inmate dies while in custody in Davie County (myfox8.com) — An inmate at the Davie County Detention Center in Mocksville was found unresponsive in his cell Friday morning and later died despite life-saving efforts by staff and EMS. Authorities identified him as 41-year-old Joseph Colin Sparks of Advance and have requested an independent investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
