5 Places To Get Tested For Coronavirus In Iredell County

MOORESVILLE, NC — As the number of novel coronavirus cases continues to grow in Iredell County and the state, state officials are placing priority on enhancing testing and tracing in order to better understand the illness' spread throughout North Carolina.

As of Wednesday morning, six people in the county had died and Iredell County health officials had confirmed at least 108 cases of coronavirus, which causes COVID-19. Statewide, at least 354 people have died from coronavirus-related illness and 9,948 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in North Carolina as of Wednesday.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, coronavirus symptoms include cough, shortness of breath, and at least two or more of the following:

• Fever
• Chills
• Repeated shaking with chills
• Muscle pain
• Headache
• Sore throat
• New loss of taste or smell

The Iredell County Health Department recommends anyone who thinks they need to be tested to contact their primary care provider first, and to call prior to arriving in order to protect the health of you and others.
