Arrest Made In Circle K Armed Robbery, More Charges Pending: MPD

Mooresville police say Erik Jerard Ramsey faces additional charges for similar armed robberies that same night throughout the region.

MOORESVILLE, NC — An Iredell County man has been arrested and charged for an armed robbery at a Mooresville convenience store and faces additional charges for similar robberies reported the same night in Huntersville, Cornelius and Troutman, Mooresville Police Department said.

The Circle K convenience store located on West Plaza Drive was robbed March 17 shortly after 9 p.m. by a male suspect brandishing a silver handgun.

“The male suspect encountered an employee at the front counter, demanded money, then left with money from the register,” MPD said.

It was a scenario that occurred multiple times elsewhere in the Lake Norman region that same night. Similar armed robberies were reported at convenience stores in Huntersville, Cornelius and Troutman.

A joint investigation was launched among law enforcement agencies, which led to the arrest of Erik Jerard Ramsey, 24, MPD said Thursday afternoon.

Ramsey, who lives in Troutman, was charged with armed robbery for the Mooresville incident and also faces additional charges in Troutman, Huntersville and Cornelius. His secured bond was set at $20,000.
