Drug Bust Leads To Federal Charges For Five In Iredell: Sheriff

The five men were indicted by a federal grand jury in Charlotte and charged with drug trafficking, the Iredell County Sheriff said.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Five Statesville men accused of possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute near Statesville have been indicted on federal drug trafficking charges, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

The Sept. 26 grand jury indictment in a Charlotte federal courtroom brought the following charges:

  • Charles Edward Mills, 58, was charged with nine counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine
  • Dorey Jarvis Joyner, 38, was charged with five counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine
  • Myles Alexander Foote, 25, was charged with four counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine
  • Lashon Maurice Gaither, 40, was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm by a felon
  • Terry Barringer, 61, was charged with four counts of distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine

Each count carries a maximum fine of $1 million and up to 20 years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Western District of North Carolina.
