Friday Night Lights Event To Honor Officer Sheldon Sept. 27
The community event at Belk in Mooresville Friday night will feature music, food trucks and more. Proceeds will benefit Shedon's K9s.
MOORESVILLE, NC — A community event set for Friday night at Belk in Mooresville will celebrate the life of slain Mooresville Police Department officer Jordan Sheldon and raise money for a new organization created in his honor.
Sheldon, 32 and a 6-year veteran of MPD, was shot and killed with a semiautomatic handgun during what police described as a "routine traffic stop" along West Plaza Drive in early May.

“Belk and the Mooresville Police Department are encouraging community members to come together and celebrate the life and service of fallen police officer Jordan Harris Sheldon on Sept. 27. This community event will feature music, food trucks, shopping and more, and 100% of event sales will benefit Sheldon’s K9s, a newly founded nonprofit honoring Officer Sheldon by providing the best equipment and services to K9 units across the country.”
Organizers said all attendees will enjoy a free meal, with first responders receiving VIP food line access with Identification, along with a token of Belk’s appreciation for their dedicated service to the community.

The event will be at Belk, located at 350 West Plaza Drive in Mooresville, and will run from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
