Georgia Man Nabbed For Ecstasy Trafficking During Traffic Stop
Lowe, who told deputies he was on his way to Atlanta, had nearly 500 ecstasy pills stuffed in the glove box, the sheriff's office said.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A Georgia man who told deputies he was en route from New England to Atlanta was arrested and charged with trafficking MDMA, or ecstasy, recently after he was pulled over for a traffic violation, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies pulled over the 2015 Chevrolet Impala driven by Steven Allen Hugh Lowe, 37, on Nov. 6. While speaking with the deputy, Lowe “became nervous, and there were inconsistencies in his answers to questions from the deputies,” ICSO said in a statement.
The deputy then asked to search Lowe’s car, and he consented, the sheriff’s office said.

“Upon searching the vehicle deputies located five plastic containers in the glove box of the vehicle which contained a large amounts of MDMA (Ecstasy) tablets,” ICSO said. Also found in the car were digital scales and plastic bags “consistent with bags used to package illegal drugs for sale.”
All total, 485 ecstasy tablets were found, ICSO said.

Lowe was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. He was charged with felony trafficking MDMA by transportation; felony trafficking MDMA by possession; felony possession with intent to sell or deliver MDMA; felony maintain a dwelling or vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance; and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lowe’s bond was set at $500,000.
